Will the streaming of music ever be the answer?

I certainly don't need to "own" my digital music collection, but I do enjoy a certain amount of control over it. And I've not yet seen a streaming service that I'm inclined to pay for. I hope Apple pulls out all the stops and offers my music collection to me wherever I may roam, via a LaLa-driven, iTunes cloud system. That, I would pay for. Other than my vinyl records habit that is.

Here's why I think Apple may offer us a new way to access our music; by our I mean music we've purchased or ripped from our own CDs and added to our iTunes library:
